Compress an image to 200KB
Upload forms usually do not ask for “smaller” — they ask for under 200KB. Set the limit and the tool searches the quality curve until the file fits.

How it works
- Drop your files. HEIC, HEIF, JPG, PNG or WebP. Batch and folder drops both work.
- Pick the output. Choose the format, quality, max edge, or a hard size limit in KB.
- Download. One file at a time, or everything as a single ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.
How a target size actually works
The tool encodes the image, measures the result, and adjusts the JPEG quality up or down until the file fits under your limit. If even the lowest sensible quality is too big, it shrinks the pixel dimensions by 20% and tries again.
That is why you get a real number instead of a shrug. Nothing leaves the browser, so it can run as many passes as it needs without uploading a single byte.
What 200KB costs you
For a 2000px photo, 200KB is usually noticeable but acceptable — fine for a form, not for print. If the image must stay sharp, raise the limit or crop first; if it only needs to be recognised, lower it.
FAQ
Can I compress to a different size?
Yes. Change the target size field to any number of KB, for example 50, 500 or 2048.
Why is my file still above the limit?
Very large images may need a dimension reduction as well. The tool does that automatically, but at extreme ratios (a 6000px photo under 50KB) quality becomes visibly poor — that is the format, not the tool.
Does this work for PNG?
Target size applies to JPG and WebP. PNG is lossless, so there is no quality dial; convert to JPG or WebP if the size limit is what matters.
